Quick Review (Spoiler Free)

I enjoyed this story! It was all true to the core mythology of Aphrodite and Ares, but was told in a way that made me feel all of her emotions. The narrator for this one was the definite star of the show with the story. I can’t put my finger on what I feel I was missing, but I just feel like I wanted something more from it. Overall, a really great read!.

Now, let's get into the details!!

This was such a good retelling of the story between Aphrodite and Ares. I really enjoy Greek Mythology and it's been so long since I've gotten to dive into this realm. So long that I forgot about some events and gods/goddesses in the mix of this story.

I haven't dived into Aphrodite's story as much as I've paid attention to the other gods/goddesses. Her freedom and passion that drove every decision she made as she grew from impulsiveness really captivated me. And I was so happy that it rounded back out to a "Happy Ever After".

The pacing from the turning point in her and Ares' relationship when Zeus meddled with her "no marriage" vow broke my heart. It was full speed ahead into drama, rediscovery of love, and reuniting the Gods in the end. The way the author rewrote some details in their interactions was great. I plan to read her other stories because I loved the way she told this story.

Overall, this has reignited my love for mythology, and I will definitely be looking into the stories of several of the gods that I had forgotten about and want to learn more from.
