About the Book
Lily is the coach's daughter. Cayden is the bad boy hockey star of the team. Everyone loves Cayden, except Lily. Lily is shocked when her dad tells the family that Cayden will be staying with them for the season. Now Lily is stuck living with her bully. But Lily has already seen the cracks in Cayden's mask... and there's no going back from here.
Quick Review (Spoiler Free)
Bully romances are hit and miss for me, this one was a hit. If you don't like the bully MMC then skip right on over this one. Something about the way Cayden carried himself, I saw through the ‘bad boy’ and saw the boy who truly cared about Lily. In a way, Lily and Cayden almost had A Walk to Remember vibes. He’s the bully and she’s the untouchable perfect child. Even his friends were too scared to risk their futures for her.
Now, let's get into the details!!
I think this is one of the first books where the MMC's nickname for the FMC made me blush. I don't know why but Freckles has to be one of the cutest names, but the way he uses it just made me melt.
I will say that there is an unrealistic amount of chaperonage in this book. I feel like if these two were living under my roof, and my daughter was explained to be coach's daughter and off limits as much as it was, then as her dad I would have kept a lot closer eye on her. Knowing I was bringing Mr. Bad Boy into my home.
The spice was definitely spicing in this book. Even with the unrealistic opportunities, the scenes were very well written. I love a good, caring MMC who takes care of his lady.
I will say I was rather pissed off at Cayden when he assumed she is the person who sold him out and did what he did to her for revenge. Like, bro, just talk to her before you jump to conclusions. It's like a step too far for her to even think of forgiving him.
