About the Book
James has one goal-destroy his enemy Peter Michaels. When James encounters Peter's daughter Wendy in his bar, he sees the perfect way to get revenge. Wendy just wanted a spontaneous night out with friends. After meeting James, Wendy is swept up in a love affair that she's not sure if it will end up happily ever after or if James is truly a monster after all.
Quick Review (Spoiler Free)
I love when a unique twist can be spun on a classic story. The original characters (Wendy, John, Michael, Peter, and Hook) were nicely reimagined.
Peter Michaels is the father of Wendy and Jonathan. And James Barrie (aka Hook) is the broody “bad guy” with a nod to the original author. Peter being her dad was a mild complaint. Now, moving on to James. I love the concept that he intended to use Wendy to mess with Peter. And, he has no problem with taking out whoever is needed to win.
The spice was definitely spicing. And the pet names during the encounters… I love when the men are morally grey but still take good care of their ladies.
