Quick Review (Spoiler Free)
More murder books for me. I am a fan of the Morbid podcast so I knew Alaina would give us a good perspective on a thriller plot. I found this because I listen to the Morbid podcast. I wanted to support Alaina plus I love mystery books. I love that is written from the perspective of someone in the field with a vast knowledge of serial killers. It felt realistic. I got smacked by one of the twists that I never saw coming. Such a good read!!

Now, let's get into the details!!
There was a twist in this story that slapped me right in the face (in a good way), and I don’t know why I didn’t see it coming but I was even more drawn in when it happened. I love that the little details were explained very accurately and not overdone. I hate when I’m reading something and think, “that wouldn’t happen that way”. But with Alaina’s attention to detail, I didn’t have any of those moments.
The only thing I would have liked it a little more background and slower pacing. I wanted to know more of Wren and Richard’s story as well as more of the story between Emily and The Butcher.
