I ALMOST met my goal for 2025. I finally finished school and tried to get back into my normal reading swing but between life and all, I just barely missed it. I managed to read 52 of 54 books for the year.

Here’s how my 2025 book journey went…

Book Clubs

I joined an amazing group of people from the Tome community and now hangout in our own Discord space, the unofficial House of Reason. We are named after Tome’s community event of basically sorting houses that disappeared later on after creation. It is open to anyone 18+ but that’s the origin story anyway. We have an at-your-own-decision book club that we vote monthly genres, then suggest titles, then vote on those titles. And it’s super chill allowing you to participate or not and then we just have discussion boards split out by progress. It’s pretty cool. Here’s the books we have read:

My best friend and I also started our own book club get togethers that we do monthly dinners and discuss the books we read. We have made a list for a genre every month of the year and plan to continue nominating 2-3 titles each month and spinning a wheel to decide our book. Here’s the books we have read:

Advanced Reader Copies

I started doing ARC reads this year and had absolutely ZERO clue on how it all worked. I really worked on getting an Instagram account, or rather Bookstagram, together and found my style where I post reviews and bookish content. I was approved for 18 ARCs in 2025; DNF’d 2 of them (one due to interest and one due to the formatting). Here’s the list:

Street Team Update

My very first ARC, Will She Run, actually led to a Street Team opportunity. I am super thrilled to remain on Alyssa-Ray’s team and excited for her new series coming up!

Monthly Favorite Books

My top 12 books for the year are as follows (one favorite from each month):

Yearly Book Matrix

I also learned about doing the matrix to determine your favorite book versus the traditional bracket method. Which, I actually like much better. I feel like it gives a great comparison. If you don’t know how to do the matrix, you should watch this TikTok where I learned how to do it as well.

Here’s my 2025 matrix results:

And there’s my recap.

It’s been a really fun year and I’m looking forward to 2026. I will also be using my new reading journal!
