This is book three in an ongoing standalone series. As always, if you prefer a spoiler free review please read my quick review instead of the in depth review below.
About the Book
Peyton has learned the hard way in life that she can only trust herself. When she lets people in, it's never completely letting her walls down. She has her group of friends and her no-strings secret fling, Beckett Hayes. One day, Peyton learns she has received an unexpected inheritance-the catch is she has to be married.
Beckett has always wanted more with Peyton than the secret friends with benefits arrangement. So he offers to be her secret husband for her to claim her inheritance. Now he must convince her to let down her walls and let him in. Will Beckett convince Peyton that she can trust and love him or will Peyton walk away from it all?
Quick Review (Spoiler Free)
After reading this, I think that Peyton and Beckett's story is my favorite so far (this is book 3). I was hooked from start to finish. There is humor/banter, sexiness, wholesome love, and mutual pining. I am a big fan of the fake dating trope so when I read that this was a "marriage of convenience" trope it gave me the same giddiness.
Now, let's get into the details!!
I joined in this series on Book 2 with Cora and Kellan. I have been stalking LoveNotes and waiting for book 3. I have not had a chance to go back and read through Grace and Clay’s story but it is still on my TBR. After reading this, I think that Peyton and Beckett’s story is my favorite so far. I was hooked from start to finish.
The dynamic between Peyton and Beckett is great. There is humor/banter, sexiness, wholesome love, and mutual pining. I am a big fan of the fake dating trope so when I read that this was a “marriage of convenience” trope it gave me the same giddiness. I was not disappointed. The plot beneath the romance surprised me and I didn’t see it coming. The way I was rooting for Peyton throughout this whole book was so strong!
There were a few moments that I was waiting for a turning point in the story and we looped back a little with Peyton’s feelings. I kind of wish she didn’t circle through some of her personal setbacks as many times as she did but overall it was worth it in the end. That’s pretty much all I can say without spoiling the story.
I would like to thank LoveNotes PR and Cala Riley for this eARC opportunity!
