Quick Review (Spoiler Free)
It has been a REALLY long time since a book made me feel so many emotions. And even longer for a book to MAKE ME CRY!! It took me an hour to listen to the last 23 mins of the book because I had to keep pausing it to cope with what was happening.
I’m still amazed at the detail within this world SJM created. I wasn’t sure if I would like Rhys in book one but holy moly do I ever like him now. This is definitely going on my favorites list.

Now, let's get into the details!!
The storyline is honestly really good. I enjoy the multiple moving parts aspect as things are moving between each of the courts, the king’s realm, and the human world. It definitely does a good job showing that there is still stuff going on in the background while you are reading about the current location.
I really enjoyed seeing all the characters bonding and growing in different ways with each other (easiest way to say it without spoilers). The ending of this book. My, oh my. I was not ready for it. I really wasn’t prepared. And I’m honestly very pleasantly surprised that I have avoided 10 years worth of spoilers for this because when I finished it, I had raw and true emotional feelings about it. I loved it.
Narration Comments
This is the first time I’ve ever listened to a dramatized adaptation of an audiobook. I really enjoyed it. I love listening to books while I’m driving or while I’m working around the house. I find myself having to replay chapters of the books I’m listening to depending on how the narrator reads. With this adaptation and all the different voices, I was able to retain everything without having to go back and listen. In my opinion, the dialogue flows much nicer together even while the main character still does the narration. I didn’t feel like any of the characters voices were forced or cringe. They all did a great job. I was very hesitant that it would be cheesy but I actually really enjoyed it.
Also, I found this picture on Pinterest and I cannot stop laughing because of Tamlin's representation in this book. I think some of you might find it funny too:
