Quick Review (Spoiler Free)
I really enjoyed this one. It kept my interest the whole way through. The characters were all intertwined so nicely. The story felt unique and well-paced. It was such a fun concept with a weirdly dark twist. I kept thinking I knew what was happening during the spiral of events. Definitely adding this to my favorite books list.
Now, let's get into the details!!

I have been meaning to read this since I read Once Upon a Broken Heart. A friend recommended that I read this trilogy first since there are some easter egg type references in OUABH that go back to this.
I was not expecting to like this series just as much. I was thinking that Evangeline and Jacks couldn't be topped but I was not expecting Scarlett and Julian.
I already think carnivals are a little creepy so I absolutely loved the dark take on a carnival island that this story presented. I really want to know more about Legend and Dante and hope that the next book gives us more information on them. Tella and Scarlett are so fun together. They are literally yin and yang vibes. Scarlett and Julian's sarcastic banter was a fun highlight to their dark surroundings.
Also, can I say how creepy the Count is? What is up with him?! Do we get to know more?
... And her dad can kick rocks. That is all.
