About the Book
Laurie Moran’s husband was murdered and her 3-yr-old son, Timmy, was witness. Laurie remembers the killer’s threat: “tell your mother she’s next, then it’s your turn.” Laurie is now directing a TV show about the murder of 20-yr-old Betsy Powell’s cold case. She soon learns that everyone involved is keeping secrets.
Quick Review (Spoiler Free)
There were so many moving parts to this story. It was definitely a different style from MHC. The pacing was very quick but nicely done with how many characters there are to keep up with. I found the back and forth perspectives of the characters to add depth to the story. It also made the ‘whodunit’ aspect of the story very interesting. And what a whammy of an ending. I was not expecting that level of excitement in the end. Great read!
Now, let's get into the details!!

This was like reading two stories in one. The murder of Betsy Powell and the stalker of Laurie Moran. And the ease at which they were told simultaneously was great. I never felt lost or confused at the plot points. Just in the normal 'whodunit' situation. At one point, I just had a gut feeling that I knew one person who did NOT kill Betsy. Other than that, I was like, "yep that person could have done it... oh new chapter, yeah you could have done it too!" When you have so many characters in one story that have so much motivation it really is a guessing game for who actually did it.
